Spring Break Visitors

Last month we celebrated Chris's 40th birthday during the kid's spring break. I was with Chris celebrating his 22nd birthday . . . I can't believe we're at 40 already! I guess time flies when you're having fun! Chris decided he wanted to have "40s for 40" (as in 40 ounce malt liquor) and a gangster (as in bloods and crips) theme for his big party. We had lots of visitors fly in for the party (Nida, Brian, Katie, Garrett, Robert, Aunt Rachel and Uncle Bill, Fred and Jackie, and Chris's dad came to surprise Chris!) and since it was the SXSW music festival here in Austin at the same time, most of them stayed with us. It was crowded but definitely a fun time!

The kids spent the night at Sharon's house during the party and had a sitter over there which they loved!

Besides the party we did a lot of hanging out and making food! Chris and his brother burned stuff in the backyard firepit most nights. We did a tiny bit of sightseeing but mostly visited.

Skylar had a field trip her last day of school before break to Wonder World cavern in San Marcos. She had quite the group with her, me, Nida, Brian and Katie! Of course it was totally freezing and raining but was definitely a cool trip.
Brooks had his first head injury. He was playing with Skylar and Fred in my room . . . I think something called volcano (probably should have made me a bit nervous that they wanted to keep playing this game). Anyway, it resulted in Brooks hitting his head on the dog crate and getting a small cut and goose egg. Of course Skylar totally wigged out per usual when someone gets hurt or blood is involved. It is funny because they throw Fred under the bus when they talk about the injury and how it was "Fred's fault." ;) Couldn't have been the fact that they were acting crazy or anything!
Brooks got in lots of wrestling time with Garrett and Papa Brian.
