Boulder
While Skylar was in SD living it up with my mom, the cousins, and Katie and Garrett, I went to meet Sara for the weekend in Boulder! It was fabulous such a wonderful city and my first trip to Colorado in the summer - amazing weather and beauty! We spent the first day shopping and people watching at the Pearl Street Mall this beautiful outdoor shopping and dining area where there were tons of people and street performers. That night we went to the Boulder Shakespeare Festival at the CU campus. We saw a great performance of The Taming of the Shrew under the beautiful Colorado Sky then had pizza at some little place near campus where we were definitely at least 10 years older than anyone else in the place!
At the visitor's center before starting our hike.
Saturday we went hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park - definitely want to head back there (soon!) with the family! Sara and I did 7 miles and it must have been the altitude because I was tired! Sara has an excuse (her wonderful little baby bump) but I'm just out of shape! We had most of the last day to explore and we went bike riding around Boulder, took the Celestial Seasonings tour (very cool and made us want to buy their tea even more), went to Golden Hill a sort of ghost town where gold had been found in the 1800's. The drive made me cringe (dirt roads, very steep) but the views were amazing. Collectively we decided that we want Skylar to go to college there so we can both have an excuse to come and visit frequently!
