Spring Break

Skylar's spring break started with a rodeo and picnic at her school. Skylar made her a purple pony named Rainbow and competed in all the events, roping, ladle races, barrel races, sac races and the 3-legged race. It is always fun to go to her class parties and see her interacting with her friends. Brooks was great too, he loves running around, exploring and getting into Skylar's business so he was happy!

My friend Kristine, who is my oldest Texas friend (we met way back when in Americorps), lives in Wimberley right on the Blanco River. They had a barn raising, Chris got to do manual labor and drink beer, kids got really dirty and played until they were exhausted, and I got to hang out with the ladies, talk and eat - great day! Here are a few pictures from the day.
Big beams are up!
Cheese!
Cool, clear water!

Muddy butts.Brooks found this huge mud puddle and was in heaven!
We went to the San Antonio Zoo with our neighbors on St. Patrick's Day. It definitely could have gone better. Brooks puked all over himself in the car about 10 minutes from the zoo. I thought maybe he was a bit car sick so figured we'd go ahead and go. The zoo was horribly crowded, I got pooped on by a bird and Brooks was definitely sick although he didn't throw up again until a potty break on the way home and I got the brunt of that - definitely not our best trip. Anyway, Skylar had the camera and took lots of pictures of animals, walls, random peoples butts etc. Here are a few highlights and reasons why we are so happy the days of developing rolls of film are over!
Green snake head.
Brooks and hippo.
Our neighbor Jack, minus head.
Great shot of some randoms.

St. Baldricks was also this past weekend so here is a picture of Chris with his new 'do. The kids love the feel of his freshly shaven head and I'm so happy his Tom Selleck mustache is gone - whooo!
