Summer
Brooks at 1 month!
Brooks is just over 5 weeks now and all is well. Chris is stuck in a vicious cycle of caffeine addiction - tired at 8 pm needs coffee to stay awake to put Skylar to bed then by 10 pm, a perfectly reasonable time to go to sleep, he's too amped up on coffee to go to bed. He ends up playing call of duty until 12 or 1 every night then is up with the kids (he's doing it to himself so I feel no guilt having him get up with Brooks in the morning!). Brooks is having more awake time these days and I think we've even started to see his first real smiles!
We went to the lake on Brooks's 1 month birthday - an activity that will be much more fun when the kids actually like swimming in the lake. Our neighbors have property on Lake Travis and we took Skylar a few weeks before Brooks was born and she was scared at first but ended up having a great time. This time she was in the water for like 2 minutes before she got hit with a wake and wanted out. Not to mention that this place is like kid paradise anyway, bouncers, bouncer slides into pools, trampolines, hammocks, kiddy pools, sand boxes you name it and they've got it so really there's no reason for Skylar to want to go in the water. Mom and Brooks baked in the shade but kept him cool with a wet mei tai carrier that also had UV protection (thanks Cyndy!!)since the little guy can't wear sunscreen yet.
Favorite activities these days include cutting and pasting and taking pictures with the digital camera
