Skylar and I went to Houston this weekend for my friend Melissa's baby shower. Melissa looked great and we had fun hanging out with her! Skylar had a fabulous time exploring all the breakable items in Melissa's mom's house and chasing around her 15 year old cat. We are hoping that Melissa, James and the baby move back to Austin so Skylar can have some more friends to play with (hint hint).

We stayed with Cyndy (= baby's mommy), Tim (= baby's daddy) and Taylor (= baby) and took a quick trip to the Houston Zoo. Austin only has a rescue zoo so it is nice to visit a zoo with elephants, giraffes and paved sidewalks (that is the biggie!). They have a lot of baby animals at the zoo who are all completely adorable. Skylar got upset when it was time to move on to the next exhibit - every time ugh! I had to sort of bribe her with the next baby animal we were going to see (for example when she was freaking out about leaving the giraffes I had to build up the fact that they had a baby elephant). She enjoyed the petting zoo and had a traumatic first carousel ride.
