The Weekend
Skylar is growing so fast these days, she is eating a ton (she takes after her mama) and sleeping well (I really enjoy those 2-hour naps!). She is into "feeding" herself, she loves holding the spoon and gets very excited to actually have the bowl on her tray (this can be a very dangerous activity if there is anything in the bowl - it usually ends up on me, the floor, the wall etc.). As you can see, she makes quite a mess and we have to protect her eyes from flying food, spoons, bowls, etc.Chris, Sky and I took our first trip to the Austin Children's Museum this weekend. We were there for an hour, which was long enough to see that we will be taking her there quite a bit in the future, especially once she becomes a true toddler. There are tons of interactive exhibits for kids of all ages but I think she enjoyed the people watching as much as anything else.
We also went to what now qualifies as a party (post-Skylar) on Saturday night. It started at 6:30, we drank 2 beers and we were the last to leave at 9:30. Two years ago and we would just be leaving the house at 9:30! All our friends realize this change has taken place and we make fun of ourselves all the time. For example, a few weeks ago we realized the big topic of conversation was our friend's new vacuum. Where they bought it, what it cost, and its special features (this wasn't just any vacuum, it could go from tile to carpet without making any adjustments on the machine). Wow!
